Owner & Head Framer
A little bit about me
Having started as a retail sales assistant, I never would have imagined that one day I would be making the title of picture framer such a large part of my identity. Yet, now attending gallery exhibitions it’s hard not to look at the frame before the artwork.
Â
With a decade of problem-solving, paper cuts and solvent fumes dealt with, I am more than qualified to aid in any of your picture-framing queries. Being an artist also lends many skills to the trade of framing, such as a grasp of colour theory, basic restoration skills and good taste (he claims boldly).
Â
My philosophy when it comes to picture framing is to find a balance between what the item calls for and the client’s chosen style. Usually, we then end up with a design that is timeless and will provide much happiness to the owner for years to come.
The Big Idea
Built from scratch, even our premises was created with an eco-conscious mindset. Where we could, second-hand materials were used and helped give the studio a sense of character.
Â
Sensing a need to put more emphasis on the sustainability side of things, De Hoop wishes to give something back to the environment while also spreading joy.
Â
With a worrying amount of things happening in the world, it’s in our best interest to do our part for Mother Nature. Custom framing should be no exception.Â
Â
We believe an environmental mindset should be the norm within an industry that uses overwhelmingly renewable resources. From recyclable matboards to a majority of biodegradable profile choices, with a focus on sustainability De Hoop wishes to offer our clientele accountable, clean and reliable design.
